Week2 : Research Proposal

What is my current topic?
My topic is "Civic Participation in Criminal Trials should exist". I will persuade the readers who think that Civic Participation in Criminal Trials is not needed. I will persuade my opinion by explaining the effects of Civic Participation in Criminal Trials and rebutting the opposites' opinion.


What are my guiding questions?
I want to know the effects of Civic Participation in Criminal Trials that supples the flaws of the previous ways of judgement. I want to know the opposites' opinion about the Civic Participation in Criminal Trials to rebut their ideas. I think my reader will have a question about the process of Civic Participation in Criminal Trials and all about it such as qualifications.Furthermore, my readers will curious about the effects and the disadvantages of the Civic Participation in Criminal Trials.


What are my current thoughts?
I know the process of selecting juries and some shortcomings of the Civic Participation in Criminal Trials Act - juries have no enough knowledge about the law and they are easily influenced by emotion. But I have to research more opinions to write my article. My opinion is that there are many effects  in practicing Civic Participation in Criminal Trials Act that compensate these problems. Therefore, we have to institute Civic Participation in Criminal Trials Act and it is necessary for our society. I want persuade people of the fact that we can get a lot of benefits from practicing Civic Participation in Criminal Trials. I will make people who consider Civic Participation in Criminal Trials as the needless one to think it as the useful policy.


What is the opposition?
My opponents will say that Civic Participation in Criminal Trials is not useful and it is unfair since the Juries have no knowledge of laws. Also, they will maintain that it needs much money to pay the juries and practicing Civic Participation in Criminal Trials leads to more longer trials. Although Civic Participation in Criminal Trials has those faults, it can reflect various people's thought and it is more appropriate for the democracy. I can anticipate that they will say practicing this policy is inefficient so Civic Participation in Criminal Trials should not exist.
